Network
All LONAP data centres are connected by a fast switch fabric using a high capacity fibre wavelength network. Our dedicated technicians manage the internet exchange facilities directly, ensuring maximum control, operational flexibility and full accountability are maintained at all times.
Each LONAP Point of Presence (PoP) houses a core network of Arista switches, providing 10 GE, 100 GE and 400 GE member-facing ports, and the PoPs are connected together with multiple 100 GE and 400 GE links in a resilient configuration.
The capacity, quality and integrity of the LONAP infrastructure enables members to minimise the volume of traffic they send through upstream providers, reducing their transit bandwidth usage and consequently keeping their costs low. We also support member operators in growing their portfolio and reselling LONAP connectivity to networks outside of London.

We operate multiple VLANs including the main IPv4 & IPv6 Unicast and IPv4 Multicast peering LANs. LONAP members can also use private VLANs between them according their individual requirements.
We hold contingency stock of mission critical network equipment on-site. This helps to ensure that our infrastructure is robust and reliable, and that we can resolve problems quickly by eliminating any delay whilst waiting for vendor stock to reach our data centres.
